We are

Tehachapi Mountain Dog Fanciers (TMDF) is a hobby club of dog-oriented people in the Greater Tehachapi area of California, established in 1995. Our members include conscientious breeders, competitors in conformation, rally, agility and obedience, dedicated mixed breed owners, and people who are interested in local animal laws.

We do

TMDF presents Novice level Obedience classes, Puppy Kindergarten classes, and Show Handler training. We have an AKC Certified Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen program working with every obedience and kindergarten class.

We stand for

We are active locally and statewide (through the California Federation of Dog Clubs) in organizing opposition and alternatives to proposed laws that harm dogs (especially dog limits and sterilization laws), to stop statewide Breed Specific Legislation (BSL), and to stop any laws that damage the relationship between people and their dogs.

We are for responsible dog ownership.

We give

We attend local events to promote dog welfare, including the welfare of our county's working dogs.  From our fundraising, KCSO-K9 Rico is enjoying his new safety vest.  And for many years we have sponsored and put on the kids' Pet Parade as part of the annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival.

We are a hobby club.  We are volunteers.  We are for dogs.
